Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few commonly asked questions about chiropractic - get in touch if you have another and I'll do my best to answer it!

Who and What do you treat?!

A: I care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions, back pain, neck pain and headaches… as well as other neuromusculoskeletal problems.

Is it suitable for children?

A: Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. I always adapt highly skilled treatments to the individual patient, and in the case of children, it's very gentle.

Are your treatments safe?

A: Yep, it's widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints.

What kind of education and training do you have?

A: I received my Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine Degree in 1999 from the National University of Health Science in Chicago which included a minimum of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical experience.

Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?

A: Adjustments and manipulations of joints may result in the release of gas bubbles between the joints, which makes a popping sound (like when you “crack” your knuckles). There is usually no discomfort involved.

How do you do the adjustments?

A: It's a manual procedure utilizing highly refined skills developed during my intensive years of chiropractic education and 20 years of clinical experience. I use my hands or an instrument to manipulate your joints to resolve inflammation and reduce pain and stress from the nervous system.

Is chiropractic treatment ongoing?

A: In consultation, you will receive a detailed treatment plan which outlines the frequency of care and the extent of recommended treatment.
